Seed were engaged by Toyota Australia to migrate www.toyota.com.au into Alfresco. The project aimed to reduce the cost of supporting the current website on Vignette while providing the enhanced management and usability functions inherent in Alfresco Web Content Management. Toyota’s website acts as both a feature rich marketing tool and an information portal for the many areas that Toyota are active in the community, examples being Toyota’s support for the Beijing Paralympics and Australian Football League (AFL). Seed’s solution was thus two tiered. We created an overall marketing site, segmented per vehicle. Multimedia and user interaction tools developed allowed each webpage for a vehicle to be managed independently. Vehicle pages had extensive interaction with Toyota’s backend systems for applications such as Help Me Choose. A cookie cutter web site producer was developed to handle micro-sites which were largely information based with little dynamic content. Seed also developed a number of Alfresco customisations to allow for enhanced image management, workflow and collaboration as part of the WCM publishing process. Seed continues to provide consulting services to Toyota and are a preferred service provider for the Alfresco platform.
